Description

Dry brushing is a type of Ayurvedic medicine that has been around for centuries. It’s believed to have many health benefits – it's detoxifying, stimulating, improves circulation, helps reduce cellulite and the list goes on. Most importantly, it awakens the senses making you feel invigorated as well as leaving you with silky-smooth skin and an all over body glow.

Directions

Dry brushing is best in the morning rather than before bed because of its energizing qualities. Shower after skin brushing, then apply body lotion / butter.

Start at your feet and brush upward towards the heart. Similarly, when you start on your arms, begin at the hands and work upwards. Use firm, small upward strokes and when brushing the stomach, work in a clockwise circular motion.

Make sure not to press too hard as this kind of brushing or exfoliation should be gentle and should never scratch or mark the skin. Dedicate at least three to five minutes to dry brushing, 2 – 3 times a week.

Alternatively, this brush can be used in the bath or shower simply for a good scrub. The long handle is very useful in allowing you to clean your back, an area of the body that often gets overlooked.
